CSERC launches new wildlife photo contest

Coyote leaping onto prey in the snow

For a previous CSERC photo contest, Laurie Matsuoka submitted this action photograph of a coyote leaping onto prey in the snow. Her picture reflects the high quality of pictures that our Center has received over recent years from contestants. With permission from the photographers, CSERC uses many of the photos in educational presentations we provide to over 9,000 students a year – mostly in Stockton, Lodi, Modesto, and other urban areas. To encourage entries, CSERC gratefully provides prizes of $150, $100, and $50 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the adult category, and $75 as the prize for entries received from youth 16 years of age and younger.

To enter, contestants can send up to 10 .jpg digital photos of native wildlife species from the Central Valley, foothills, and mountains of our region. Be sure to provide contact information so you can be reached if you are a winner. The deadline for entries is midnight on November 30th. Send photos to: [email protected]
