How to Make a Bequest

A bequest is simple and convenient, and you have several options. Since a will is an important legal document, you may wish to seek an attorney's help to create your will or to adjust your current will to include a specific bequest to CSERC. Below are some suggested bequest wording options to help.

How to include the Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center in your Will:

Specific bequests make a gift of a specific dollar amount or specific assets such as securities, real estate, or personal property.  (Most donors to CSERC will likely prefer this kind of Specific Bequest.)

In your will you can simply include your wish: “I leave ($5,000, $250,000, $20,000, etc.) to the Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center in Twain Harte, California, for general support of the non-profit Center’s work on behalf of the environment."

Residuary bequests give all or a portion of the rest, residue, and remainder of your estate after payment of expenses and allocation of any specific amounts that you have designated to other beneficiaries.

The three examples below demonstrate the bequest wording you could use to support Central Sierra Environmental Resource Center's environmental efforts. Each individual situation is unique and, therefore, these examples include only some of the possible gift opportunities. We encourage you to share your final will provision with CSERC to ensure that your wishes will be properly followed and recognized.
