Thursday, June 15th – Leland Gully/Fiddler’s Green Meadow fence build (Summit Ranger District)
Project details: Volunteers, CSERC staff, and Forest Service staff will join efforts to put up wire fencing around just Leland Gully Meadow (not Fiddler's Green Meadow) in an effort to protect willow and stream restoration sites from livestock grazing. We are looking for 5-10 volunteers to help with this half-day project!
Saturday, June 24th – Meadow weed removal (Groveland RD)
Project details: This will be a full day project manually removing invasive plants in a meadow within the Rim Fire footprint on Groveland RD near Cherry Lake. We need 10-20 people for this full-day project!
Saturday, July 8th – Crab Meadow fen fence re-build (Summit RD)
Project details: Volunteers and CSERC staff will assist Forest Service staff rebuild the fence that protects this very special fen complex from livestock grazing. We need 15-20 volunteers for this all-day project! If your considering only coming out for 1 volunteer project day this year consider attending this project!
4. TBD weekday in June (or possibly early July) – Jawbone Meadows (Groveland RD)
Project details: Volunteers will assist CSERC staff put up a barbed wire fence around a restoration site. We are looking for 1-2 volunteers for this full day project!
TBD weekday in June (or possibly early July) – Shell Meadow (Summit RD). Status: Completed by FS staff!
Project details: Volunteers and CSERC staff will assist Forest Service staff do manual vegetation trimming and installation of an electric fence line around a key meadow restoration site. Date of project will be determined once accessibility is determined. We are looking for 4-5 people to help us with this half-day project!
TBD weekday in June (or possibly early July) – Lake Moran meadow (Calaveras RD) Status: Cancelled (access).
Project details: Volunteers will assist CSERC staff put up a wire fence around a restoration site that is protecting sensitive plants from grazing. Date of project will be determined once accessibility is determined. We are looking for 4-5 people to help us with this full-day project!
Plan to bring the following items at a minimum:
- Work clothes that can get dirty including long pants (required) and long sleeves (recommended)
- Sun protection
- Lunch (snacks provided)
- Water bottle
- Work boots (where top is above ankle)
- Daypack to carry belongings (recommended)
Please sign up as far in advance as you can so that we know how many volunteers are coming and so you can find out where to meet. We will have carpooling available for those who would like to rideshare.
