Volunteer projects are making a big difference in 2014!
Much of the time CSERC staff deals with far-too-many meetings, reviewing thick planning documents, giving testimony at key hearings, and doing all kinds of necessary office work. In contrast, there is immediate satisfaction that comes from organizing volunteers to join with our staff to do get-dirty, hands-on restoration projects that make such an obvious difference for resources on public lands of our vast region. Each CSERC volunteer workday restoration project is strategically selected in partnership with U.S. Forest Service or BLM specialists. Some sites are priorities due to the environmental damage that is occurring, while other sites may be selected because of damage to special places that are highly popular with large numbers of recreational visitors. This year CSERC staff and volunteers have already completed 12 restoration workday projects, and there are at least 5 more projects coming up where you can join in to help.
Some of our project highlights so far this season include:
A major campsite cleanup and restoration project at the Clavey River

Restoration and maintenance on the trail to Chain Lakes
