
"This decision to dismiss the reservation system ignores this conclusion alongside decades of other research and park planning efforts, such as Yosemite’s General Management Plan in 1980 and the 2014 Merced Wild and Scenic River Plan. These efforts have all recognized the park has a carrying capacity and outlines the negative consequences on the ecosystem and wildlife of exceeding that capacity. We are now being asked to believe that a single “evaluation” done in 2025, privately conducted under the watch of a superintendent with mere months of experience managing Yosemite, suddenly produced findings that overturn decades of rigorous scientific research and planning."
