CSERC programs reach 150,000 participants, a major milestone

We began CSERC’s slide show presentations back in 1990 to help students in urban areas learn about wildlife and forests. Soon we added classroom programs about water, eagles, and local birds.

“Water- Our Precious Gift” has been our featured presentation. Most of CSERC’s thousands of classroom talks and assemblies have been given in minority community neighborhoods of the Central Valley or at rural area schools in the foothills. Our programs have now planted seeds of environmental awareness with over 150,000 participants. We recently passed that milestone when we gave two assemblies in Stockton. Since then we’ve given four additional programs in Hughson.

The young people we reach with these presentations will be some of the future stewards of our region’s precious water resources and nature’s delicste web of life here in California. We’ve traveled tens of thousands of miles and invested a significant amount of member contributions into providing these programs. We believe it’s a wise investment for both the short term and the long term.
