On top of so many demands, CSERC also faces a funding challenge; and YOU can help with more than just pivotal member donations

For 26 years, member contributions and grants have enabled CSERC to do our wide range of efforts for water, wildlife, and wild places of the Northern Yosemite region.

Donations and grants pay for water sampling, forest fieldwork, website expenses, and all the staff time needed to attend hearings, review thick EIS documents, meet with decision-makers, and present programs to thousands of urban area students.

Unexpectedly, this year four major grants are not available for CSERC due to foundation adjustments, shifting priorities, or other reasons. In 2015 those four grants were key to meeting our budget for the year. Now, we somehow have to find funds elsewhere. MEMBER DONATIONS ARE CRITICAL IF CSERC IS TO KEEP UP OUR CORE EFFORTS. BUT THERE IS ANOTHER IMPORTANT WAY YOU MIGHT ALSO BE ABLE TO HELP.

It is cost prohibitive for CSERC staff to travel to the Bay Area or Stockton or Modesto to post our CSERC brochures in places where nature-loving people might learn about our work. But YOU may know of a coffee shop, doctor’s office, recreational equipment store, or other locations where you could leave 10 or 20 CSERC brochures. A few minutes of your time might help CSERC to gain new members when we pivotally need to increase member donations. If you would be willing to distribute some CSERC brochures, please contact Megan at our Center at: [email protected] We will gratefully mail you a packet.
