Citizen activists are needed now, more than ever…

Whether you want to receive Action Alerts or you also want to start attending CWG monthly sessions, the fate of endangered species, threatened wild places, and even our planets’ climate can all be affected if you and enough other citizens choose to step forward to become environmental defenders.

CSERC offers two ways for you and other members to make a meaningful difference as a citizen participating in our democratic society:

ACTIVIST ALERTS — A few times each year, CSERC mails and e-mails Activist Alerts to those who have signed up to receive such notices. By reviewing the alert and learning about the threat, you can judge whether that issue is important to you. When you do feel motivated, CSERC alerts can enable you to know WHO to write to or to call, WHEN to take action, and WHAT key comments to strategically share. Sign up for Activist Alerts by contacting Julia of our staff at: [email protected]

CONSERVATION WORK GROUP MEETINGS — For those who live in the local region, CSERC sponsors a monthly opportunity to come together with other activists at a Conservation Work Group meeting, usually on the first Wednesday evening of the month. These CWG sessions highlight current environmental issues and help attendess to learn how to be most effective when writing comments or testifying at meetings (such as a Park Sevice meeting below). To get agendas for each month’s CWG meeting or to review meeting minutes when you cannot attend in person, contact Megan of the CSERC staff at: [email protected]
