Raising awareness is a key to understanding nature

In many ways, learning about wildlife and plants of the local region leads to a greater appreciation of the delicate web of life in our mountain ecosystem.
There is so much to learn and so much to enjoy.

In this newsletter, we feature a beautiful nature mural that depicts some of the key plants and animals of the region. That mural will help young people to recognize certain species shown in the painting when they look around in their neighborhoods or take trips into the forest.

Young people also learn about nature through CSERC's popular slide show programs that have now reached over 96,000 participants. With articles and photos, we hope this newsletter will further add to your awareness of the environment and key resource issues of the Northern Yosemite region.
