Edie is our poster girl this spring, thanks to her parent’s generous sharing of photos. She is just one visible example of those who will inherit the world that we pass on to them.
Think ahead 20 years from now. Will our precious local region still be healthy, with a rich assortment of plants and animals? Or will sprawling development, clearcuts, pollution, or the loss of wild places degrade or forever alter our oak woodlands, mountain forests, and flowing streams? What will we pass on as a legacy?
In our busy daily lives, most of us don’t take the time to focus on all the many projects or activities that threaten the local region’s natural values. It can be easy to overlook the combined impacts that widespread development can cause for wildlife, plants, and open space resources. CSERC provides science-based efforts to make a positive difference across this region, and to ensure that the legacy we leave is rich in natural wonders.
