Spring's fleeting beauty paints the foothills with color

Heather took this stunning picture on a south-facing hillside in Calaveras County, where poppies spread wide to bask in the warm spring sunshine.  Inside this newsletter, you’ll find other beautiful photos featuring colorful wildflowers in bloom across the foothills of our region.

The lush beauty of nature can quickly be lost, however, when bulldozers, chainsaws, pollution, or other human actions disrupt the natural web of life.  Inside this edition, we touch on some of the current environmental threats that pose significant risks to wildlife, water, or other resources of our local region.  You’ll also learn what CSERC is doing to find solutions to those environmental problems.
