In the Emigrant Wilderness...

(Camp) "Off the beaten trail, not a fishing or swimming lake, camped there for 6 days and never saw another person unless I hiked on the main trails."

(Hike) "Beautiful granite country with alpine lakes, and no crowds!"

(View nature) "Quiet, pristine, and something new each time."

(Hike) "Love being up in the high country."

(Camp) "My family is fond of Hyatt Lake and Big Lake. These give a backcountry feel at low elevation and can be accessed in 1 day. We love the incredible granite of the area."

(Camp)"We backpack to our special lakes in the Emigrant. We go for some family time and to get away from it all! "

(Hike) "Spectacular scenery in our backyard! Yosemite, only closer and without the crowds. We follow the melting snow, Relief early when Summit and Kennedy Creeks are whitewater, Blue Canyon and PCT south late when the wildflowers are blooming. It's all great!"

(Hike) "My family and I can get away from the world, to see the world! The country is so beautiful and the land so peaceful that we never want to leave once we begin. Each time we revisit, it's better than we thought!"

At Sonora Pass

(Botanizing) "This is a place where I can see more of the Sierra's pristine plants, with less intrusion, fewer people, and I have a better understanding of pre-columbian conditions."

(Hike) "Great views, wildflowers, solitude...."

In the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness...

(Raft/ kayak/ boat) Upper Spicer; beautiful; nobody there; sentimental connection.

(View nature) The history of these areas and of course the closeness to Nature.

At the Stanislaus River...

(View nature) "Quiet, solitude, wildlife, natural beauty, no people and their eternally negative influences are some of the reasons I enjoy the Stanislaus river. The Ebbetts Pass area are other favorites of mine. The Clavey is pretty special too!"

Clavey River-

(water holes) "God's Bath: beautiful spot. As is Cleo's at Pinecrest. Keep up the great work CSERC!"     (thank you!)

Browne’s Meadows

(living here and observing the flora and fauna+gardening) "It's filled with the history of this region and we enjoy sharing that with friends+finding artifacts and improving the environment here hopefully." (thanks Toni!- CSERC staff)
