Local Wild Places

For the past decade, CSERC has been the local region's leader in helping to turn back intensive logging, road building, or development projects that would have harmed the Eagle, North Mountain, Shoofly, North Fork Stanislaus, and other roadless wildlands of the area.  Those wild places contain a rich diversity of plants and animals that have disappeared in most developed areas. Wild places are beautiful, magical, and wonderful webs of natural life. They pose rewarding challenges to people of all ages at all level of outdoor skills. Most important of all, wild places are essential for the survival of many species. As such, they serve as a legacy for future generations.  Read more about local roadless areas
