Threats to the wild places of the Central Sierra

Wild places are beautiful, magical, wonderful havens of natural life.

Wild places provide challenging but rewarding experiences to people of all ages and any level of outdoor skills.

Most importantly, wild places are essential for the survival of many species. As such, they serve as a legacy for future generations.

For the past decade, CSERC has been the Northern Yosemite region's leading advocate in helping to turn back intensive logging, road building, and development projects that could harm the Eagle, North Mountain, Shoofly, North Fork Stanislaus, and other designated Roadless Areas. These wild places contain a rich diversity of plants and animals that have disappeared from most developed areas.
