Most important of all, wild places are essential for the survival of many species. As such, they serve as a legacy for future generations.
For the past decade, CSERC has been the local region's leader in helping to turn back intensive logging, road building, or development projects that would have harmed the Eagle, North Mountain, Shoofly, North Fork Stanislaus, and other designated Roadless Areas. Those wild places contain a rich diversity of plants and animals that have disappeared in most developed areas.
